Dear couples in order to have civil wedding in Santorini Island you may collect some package of documents, for any country it may be different packages! All documents must be with apostille, translated and certified in the Greek Embassy / Consulate in your country. You can send your documents by fax or email our agency for translation service. All documents must be sent by fax or email for review 4 weeks before your wedding in Santorini. We have to confirm that your paperwork is in order. After that, you just need to bring the originals with you.
You have to stay in Santorini at least 1 working day (Monday-Friday) after your wedding, in order to go to the Town Hall to sign your Marriage Certificate. Approximately in 2-3 month you will receive marriage certificate in Greek language with apostille by registered letter.

FULL BIRTH CERTIFICATES OF BRIDE AND GROOM Both parties are obliged to provide a full birth certificate. Shorter versions will not be accepted.
CERTIFICATE OF NON-IMPEDIMENT TO MARRY FOR BOTH BRIDE AND GROOM This document confirms that you have not been married and that you are free to married. The document can be issued in your local Registrar’s office and it must not be issued more than 3 months before your wedding.
DIVORCE CERTIFICATE IF ANY If either party has been divorced please provide a certified copy of the Decree Absolute.

MARRIAGE LICENSE with APOSTILLE (one license covers both of you), that is valid for a wedding outside of the state, translated in Greek

OPTION 2 (YOU WILL PASS BY IN PERSON TO THE USA EMBASSY IN ATHENS):
From the USA Embassy in Athens you will take in person an Affidavit of Marital Status to cover both the bride and groom INSTEAD of the Marriage License and Single Status letters as mentioned in Option 1 (above).

As the documents from Canada do not carry Apostille all the documents must be stamped and translated ONLY by the Greek Embassy or Consulate, otherwise the Registrar cannot accept them.
